Truth must be something so simple and clear that everyone can understand it easily. If it is complex and hard to understand, it may not be universal truth. We all actually know what truth is but do not think much about it. We may think that we do not know truth since we do not usually recognize it employing our consciousness.
Truth is simple and clear, so it is not a subject for a debate or controversy. When we recognize truth, we can analyze misconceptions and interpret the true nature of problems. Accurate understanding of truth will lead us to resolve conflicts and disputes caused by misunderstanding and restore comfort. This state of mind is referred to as enlightenment. Enlightenment can be likened to taking off a blindfold and seeing everything when all the others are living blindfolded. When you take off the blindfold, you can see that people are bumping into each other and fighting each other since they cannot see.
This
mechanism of realizing truth can be also applied to treat psychological
disorders. When psychological disorders are treated, you can recognize truth
and form proper thought standards. Then, comfort and happiness of mind are
achieved. Distorted desire and greed disappear along with stress and wounds.
People take different approaches to recognize truth depending on circumstances. Some people devote their whole life to the process of recognizing truth as clergy and monks. Others find their own ways to recognize truth in daily life or through religion. Regardless of the path taken, truth is the same for everyone in every circumstance. Anyone can easily recognize truth and become happy only if they intend to do so since truth is so simple and clear.
However, unfortunately, there have always been people who try to hide truth and argue for falsehood throughout history. And many people do not even think about truth let alone recognizing it anyway. When you do not know truth and do not have proper thought standards, stress and wounds are generated, and distorted desire and greed grow inside you.
People who seek only their own profit hiding their desire and greed will try hard to prevent others from recognizing truth in order to take advantage of others and maximize their profit. They may try to disguise truth as something complex and mysterious to interfere with others recognizing it. They may invent all kinds of theories and rhetoric to make truth look inexplicable and incomprehensible.
Without recognizing truth yourself, you will have more and more stress and wounds and suffer from difficulties of this and that type. People who seek only their own profit will provide superficial consolation and encouragement for innocent people who suffer. When you do not know truth, you cannot have proper thought standards and then, you can be easily taken advantage of by people who seek only their own profit.
Of course, there are people who have recognized truth in our society. Unfortunately, they may become the target of attack by people who seek only their own profit. People who promote falsehood will do anything within their power to eliminate those who speak out and promote truth. This phenomenon is not uncommon to find around us in daily life, in family, among friends, at work, and in local communities. It is a common scene to be seen that when children confront adults with truth, they are silenced with force by adults since truth makes adults uncomfortable.
Anything that
is not based on truth is just illusion. Many people live in illusion without
even understanding why they are so stressed and wounded. They may suffer all
their life without proper thought standards based on truth. Truth is not far,
not complicated, and not fancy. We all must do our best to recognize truth
whatever we do at home, at work, and at any place with anybody.
